On December 20, 2018, President Trump signed the 2018 Farm Bill legalizing the production, extraction, and transportation of industrial hemp throughout the United States.
However, under the Farm Bill, industry participants are still subjected to strict governmental oversight. It is also important to keep in mind that the Farm Bill does not legalize CBD. Instead, only CBD derived from industrial hemp grown in accordance with the Farm Bill regulations will become legal.
